Bursting with good food and rum laced tea, three prosperous
Edwardian couples from the West Riding town of Clecklewyke
gather together once more to celebrate their Silver Wedding
Anniversaries. Anniversaries shared each year since they all
married in a joint ceremony at the Non-Conformist Chapel 25
years ago, of which they are now leading members.
What a to-do when they learn that the young minister
who married them may not have been properly qualified for the job! The
implications just don't bear thinking about, and to make matters
worse the shocking news has been overheard by the Helliwell's highly
irreverent charwoman, Mrs Northrop, who won't hesitate to make her
own kind of a meal out of it.
